Petrodictators and Foreign Instability

The world's primary petrodictators are found in Russia, Iran and Venezuela -- P.M. Putin, Iranian ayatollahs and their President Ahmadinejad, and Hugo Chavez. They are only able to push their xenophobic, nationalistic agendas when they are able fund their reigns. Fifty dollars per barrel of oil is not going to do it; they need +$100 per barrel.

It is their personal, cronyism goals to promote instability in economic markets. Whether it is supplying Hamas and Hezbollah with rockets, Iran with construction and technology for nuclear programs or not standing in the way of terrorism outside of their countries, they benefit if the rest of the world struggles with shortages and fear.

As long as the petrodollars keep coming in, they are able to perpetuate their grip on power. They will avoid the revolutions that have so often defined their countries. They will continue to live the lives of kings, while committing the most heinous of crimes.

Their goals include changing this low oil price. If they don't their futures (at least in this life) will not arrive at a happy ending.
